Tasker profiles:
I just recently started using Tasker, an awesome app if you haven't picked it up do so immediately.
The app allows you to make custom profiles where you can basically do anything with the phone. for example you can create a profile that will automatically have your phone read your texts while you are in your car, or turn on and turn off your GPS for certain applications like Google Maps. Anyway I want to start this thread to post our own custom profiles that we make ourselves. The Tasker website has a few examples http://tasker.wikidot.com/profile-index but there are literally endless possibilities. Here are some that I have come up with. This a widget that I created to easily contact my wife: (screen attached) This one will be created as a Task Only: Click New then name the task: I named mine my wives name. Task(+ sign) --> Phone --> Call. In the Number field enter the contacts phone number or long hold to look through phone book (was having issues with the long hold), you can also add a label "Call the wife" or anything you want. check auto dial. then done. Task--> Phone --> Compose SMS. Same as the last, put the contact in the Number field. add label. Done Task--> Net --> Compose Email. In the recipients field add the email address. add label. Done the next one I added is optional but a good way to get on your wives good side. Task--> Phone--> Send SMS. Fill in Number Field, this time we are putting in a message in. I put "I love you", you can put whatever you want maybe: "Make me dinner" or for the wives to husbands "you better not be on the computer when I get home" Anything you want to send on a regular basis. Label. and Done. Click the blue ? on the bottom right of the screen to add an ICON. still trying to add custom icons. then click the "setting icon" next to the "icons" icon. For Task Type select "Menu", you can change the settings if you like, the only thing I changed was "Menu Timeout" to 10 seconds, 30 is much too long. So we have completed the task, now we need to create the widget to use it. Note: widgets cannot be edited once created, only deleted and recreated. Long hold where you want the widget on your homescreen, widget--> Task then select the task you created in the dropdown. then "make widget" All done. Please add your own. |
