how do you all use titanium backup?

Do you just have it restore everything? Because if you did that, wouldn't it technically delete anything that's newer and replace it wtih older stuff? What I mean by that is, the programs themselves or even files for the programs. Say there was an update to sense, and you replaced it with your version in your backup, you'd be loosing the newer version correct? I'm just trying to figure out the best meathod to using titanium, it's a great program, it just doesn't feel right to me backing up system stuff then restoring that older stuff to a newer rom.

Re: how do you all use titanium backup?

I only have Titanium backup my apps and app data. Works fine for me, even over different versions of Android.

Re: how do you all use titanium backup?

Me too, apps and data only. There is also an option to backup new/updated apps which I use periodically. I always restore both apps and data and have never had an issue. I backup the HTC desktop before switching ROMs to restore my widgets and apps. So far haven't had any issues with that. Typically, before I switch ROMs or upgrade I do a titanium backup to make sure I have the newest version of everything backed up
