Lookout App

Is anyone using the Lookout App? I like the idea but I'm afraid of what they might do with the data. I've skimmed the privacy info and TOS, but I'm not certain my data is safe and confidential.

How are you backing up your phone info?

I think its still in BETA, so I would be careful. I like the app, but who knows who this company is? LOL but this can be said about most android apps.

There are similar services with Microsoft myphone service so this type of thing is not new. They seem to be well rated. I think they will probably go to some type of paid model before everything is said and done. MS charges for phone tracking backup is free.

What got me interested is the GPS location security features.

Here's a quick video on their site where Police tracked a guys stolen car, with cellphone in it, and arrested the Perp within 7 minutes.

There is a free application you may want to look at: WatchDroid.

the best app for this is one that can trigger via sms, since data service is unreliable and most of us turn off always on data.
