Re: Marine GPS?

well i have found a few things but mostly i have been waiting for Google earth there are some programs like trek buddy where if you have the charts you can port them out and move them over but nothing that is really good. On my windows mobile phone i used topo 8 and a subscription and Microsoft streets and trips but i have found nothing like it for android yet. from what i understand google earth for android will be able to link to a online kml layer and that is what you would need

if you come up with something else let me know

I haven't tried it yet, so I don't know what features are available, but Google Earth is in the Market already...atleast for Android 2.1 on the Nexus One.

Hmm ill have to check it out when i get my HTC INC, thanks guys, I wish Active Captain would come to android such an awesome program, maybe i can still use my Omnia for that purpose without data connection, just using GPS, as far as i know all the data is installed and it only needs to go online for if you want company info.

Will i still be able to use the GPS on my omnia without it being on a line? I know i can use camera, mp3 , dvix player etc. but GPS based programs, that don't need data connections... any ideas?

Thanks for your help
