Re: Sirius Radio
Are the Windows Mobile people smarter than the Android people? I would not think so but I am surprised no one with Android can do what has been done for years on Windows mobile with Sirius Radio. If I was smart enough I would try, but that is obviously not the case. =P~

Windows Mobile has been out for years and theres a huge install base so even if it were 1 in 10 people that wanted Sirius on there Win Mo phone the demand would be there because theres millions of users. Android, its still in its infant stage of install base and its slowly creeping up on WinMo's install base and becoming more known as time goes by. but of course this is only my theory, so it may or may not be true. |

Re: Sirius Radio
Another aspect of the Sirius/XM player is that the player for WM was built using the Browser object. The app creates a browser object and interacts with the online radio feed as if it were someone listening online with IE.
For a while, Sirius cooperated with player developers and made life a bit easier for them. Then, after the merger, they started using Captcha text to validate users and using a handoff to redirect the online user to another server, and turned a cold shoulder to the player developers. Since IE is "baked into" the WM OS, there was a whole API available for building and troubleshooting the app. Not having done any Android development, I cannot say the same about that OS. But it would be a safe assumption that there have not been as many web-enabled apps build for Android as there have been for Windows or WM. Thus, the longer ramp-up in building a player app. |

After XM/Sirius hit my credit card with a seven hundred plus unauthorized charge, I would not touch them with YOUR ten foot pole!:banghead:

One thing guys, Sirius did what they did when they released this on iTunes
it was not able to be found on the marketplace because of the name they chose installed on the Droid Incredible the app is titled "Online" same exact name they chose for iPhone so just incase you can't find it when you go to add a shortcut, thats what to look for Peace! |
Sirius XM Android app hits the Market
Sirius XM Android app hits the Market
By Paul Miller posted May 28th 2010 12:50PM http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget....-android-1.jpg That's right, we're downloading the brand new Sirius XM app to our favorite, not-at-all-fragmented Android handset as we speak. Sure, we don't actually have a paid satellite radio subscription, but if you hit up the source link you can sign up for 7 days free while you multitask it up against Robo Defense on your own phone. There's no mention on the download page of specific handset compatibility, so let us know if you have any trouble running the app on that Motoblur phone your mom bought you. http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/28/s...ts-the-market/ |

Re: Sirius Radio
I installed it a few hours ago and almost gave up on finding the darn thing! Then I TOO came across the "Online" Icon. How stupid! Why not call it Sirius/XM?
Oh well, it works great! |
