Re: Streaming Radio??
Unfortunately no. There are players the will play .pls streams but if you are like me, the radio station I would like to stream is in .wma and there isnt a player for that type.

Re: Streaming Radio??
Yeah, that's what I kinda gathered from my research. It's a deal breaker for me. I will stay with WinMO until Android gets a decent streaming player. I really wanted to switch to the new 4G phone Sprint has coming out (EVO I think.....)

Re: Streaming Radio??
Wasnt so much of a deal breaker for me but I definitely do miss it. I mean it cant be a WM only type of thing because Black Berrys can play .wma streams sooo... I wish I was a developer, i would make my own app. But then again, i would probably be loved and hated around here.

Re: Streaming Radio??
I'm currently using streamitall radio (paid version). It plays m3u/pls and .mp3 streams.
I also use links from thestreamcenter.com. Luckily the station I listen to is nationwide so I found a couple of streams that use the .mp3 streaming format and it works for me. Audio tends to drop out only when doing other things (texting/surfing). Other than that, it works as advertised. Hope that helps

Re: Streaming Radio??
If you used Kinoma, then you *need* to get "Xiia Live" - it's free (or paid, but I don't know the difference - maybe saves favorites or something, I think it's only $5). It has basically the same exact SHOUTcast selection as Kinoma, but it's prettier and has less issues with srtreaming (better buffer). I can't recommend it enough.

Re: Streaming Radio??
Hmm I am also thinking about jumping to the android platform and the fact that there is no streaming radio player is very disturbing to me. I am currently running a paid version of Wonder radio and like it a lot. I hope someone finds a player in the next week or so because I am on a waiting list for an incredible and the more I dig into what I have and what android does not the more I'm not liking what I here.....
I take this statement back since investigating the app Radio Time I have found out that Radio Time is Wonder Radio! There is a Wonder Radio App for the Android platform and I have been very happy with my WM version of it. So enjo y Guy's! Last edited by schoust; 05-16-2010 at 08:52 AM. |
