You want the WiFi radio on
all the time? You're gonna have to lug around some extra batteries. Adryn took special care to include in some of his ROMs an app which turns it off three minutes after going idle.
If you find a way to do this you could call it "Pocket Warmer" I reckon. I'm not making fun of your desire but just pointing out that the WiFi radio uses a lot of power, especially when you're out of range of a wireless network.
