To clarify, Backup files are stored on the Storage Card and each one takes up about 78MB. I have kept at least five on the card at one time.

So it appears that there are some huge files in the System folder that choke the Backup. I have even removed Google Earth, Pandora.

I did a Backup of everything EXCEPT System Data and it performed it fine - about 9.9MB and it did it easily...so I know the Backup works.

Any thoughts on what is choking it?

From your information on your trial and error methods, I would guess that it wants the size difference due to temp space as it moves and compiles the data to be backed up into a file

Much like defrag on a PC needs a set amount of open space to move files to before it reorganizes things and then moves it all back - Sprite might want some temp space to properly temp the file then move into the archive

I personally have never used Sprite so its just speculation - I just use PIM Backup as I just want the data, not the progs as I can reinstall them myself
