I guess the bottom line is this: How do I get out of SPL-0.36.0000 mode and into SPL-0.40 or 2.31 mode?

I don't have a computer connection where I can check if my sd card is fat32 or not. When I try to load 2.31 from the card it gets stuck at the gray screen and says "loading".
