To expand upon this: XIP, SYS, and OEM make up a Kitchen. Like frosty said, a kitchen is used to cook a ROM. The Radio is the part of the programming that controls your GPS, Signal, Bluetooth, etc... and radio's are device specific not carrier specific. Special care should be taken when messing with radio flashes, especially on devices with both GPS and non-GPS radios available. For more information on device specific ROM/Kitchen/Radio info just visit the upgrade subforum for your device.
