I'm pretty sure that the usb on the phone will not work for your gps antenna.
The problem is that the gps antenna you're refering to, uses the usb connection as it's power source. I don't believe the apache is capable of powering any device through usb.
Re: 4gb mini-sd card.
There is a pretty long thread in here regarding this subject.
Basically, some people have had great success using the 4gb, some had to partition it into 2@2gb and some had more headaches than success.
Seems to be hit and miss, and they all seem to agree you need a good quality card.
