A single antenna can be built to support a fairly wide variety of frequency ranges beyond 1900MHz. The Mogul's antenna interfaces with the MSM7500. Beyond that, it's all firmware.

Perhaps we'll not find out the real answer - perhaps we will.

Read up on the specifications of the MSM7500 chipset within the phone...

Specs:
133MHz ARM9 companion processor, ARM TrustZone technology, Embedded QDSP4000 or QDSP5000 DSP (CDMA2000 1X Rel. 0 / Rev. A, CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rel. 0 / Rev. A, GSM, GPRS Class 10 baseband), Embedded gpsOne GPS module, Qcamera, Qtv, Qcamcorder, Qvideophone

Then, read up on gpsOne:
http://www.cdmatech.com/products/gpsone.jsp

Key specification:
Supports Standalone-GPS, which expands the availability of positioning capabilities to areas where cellular networks are not accessible

Anything's possible, for what it's worth. I have faith that the guys down the road will release something ONLY if it's possible, in due time.
