I just flashed my Sprint Rom for the very first time to lllboredlll's 21042.1.9.1.B TP2 Edition ROM. I was just as worried as you - but like everyone else on the forum I LOVE to customize my phone - also since it's MY phone and not my company's I felt I could actually do it.

He gives a great n00b-perspective, on first time flashing.

Read all the info you can - like this thread on how to unlock your phone:

And here on how to actually flash it - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=43266

It's really a matter of getting comfortable. Don't try to digest it all at once, and try to do everything in one step. Break it apart. The first thing you have to do is unlock your phone - this will allow you to actually flash a new ROM on it. Unlocking your phone is VERY easy to do. Read the above post on how to do that. Once you've unlocked it (by the way it'll still work fine with your current stock ROM doing only this), get comfortable with going into the boot loader which is really easy as well.

Once you've unlocked it pick a ROM, download it, and apply it and you'll be golden!

PM me if you have any questions along the way - but I know once you do it - you'll say how easy it was.
