Quick update: soft reset seems to have fixed my push email accounts (both Hotmail and Exchange). I also just now realized that my compact qwerty keyboard doesn't work properly - it only types numbers and symbols regardless of abc or t9 mode. Wierd black box at the top bar is still there...
I have version 3.8 and did follow the hard reset instructions when flashing.
Edit: removed picture mail and now my push email accts are fine. Anyone else have bad luck with the Sprint Picture Mail CAB? Also, removing this program sped up my system siginificantly.
