I'm not sure about this b/c i have UPX'd /windows files that I put in post- flash and saved storage memory. so you must mean the stuff in \windows that came from the ROM apps, right?

Yes, sorry I wasn't very clear about that. I took the OP as referring to UPXing all the things in the \Windows prior to flashing so they would already be UPXed on the ROM. Like luv2chill said, you could UPX files in the \Windows folder that are put there post-flash (such as files put there when you install a program) and they would compress and use less Storage. I still try to avoid that now unless the programs aren't used a lot because everything I UPX seems to have use more Program Memory when run than its non-UPX version. For a program I only run occasionally the space savings are worth the Program Memory hit.
