At bootloader it says "serial" then "usb" if he's plugged in. We tried running the unlocker again and it doesn't detect his phone. I'm thinking of trying the VZW rom that's been up here for a while. If it's an official release would it count as a "stock" rom? If not I might need a bit of help reverting him back.

Update: The "official" verizon release got him back up and running. The RUU worked fine without active sync seeing his phone, which is odd since the unlocker wouldn't. Anyways, we're back up and running, thanks for the ideas!
