Um... if it is only the looks of the phone you are concerned about, and the electronics are still good, fire up ebay and buy one with a wasted screen or bad esn for 40 bucks or so. I've also seen new or undamaged cases for 30-60 and screen/digitizer combos for under 50. There is a disassembly guide somewhere on the ftp that will help swapping all the bits. Prolly a lot simpler and definitely the safer way to go.
