in order for your phone to run a rom that isnt from the manufacturer you have to unlock the phone, all phones bought from the manufacturer come pre-locked in order to prevent this, running the hard-spl unlocks the device and allows it to run the custom roms found here in the touch pro upgrades section, when running the hard spl make sure you choose the one made for your manufacturer, if you check out the hard spl thread in the stickies here it will give you all the information needed to successfully unlock your phone then there is also a thread titled "how to flash your touch pro" also in the stickys that is pretty self explanitory, "flash" means the process of putting the new rom on your phone, most of these roms come with the necesary tweaks needed to help with battery consumption and most will come with the microsoft office programs just have a look through the "change log" in the specific roms thread. "change log" is a list of what has been added or removed from the rom. some recommendations i would give for a rom is mightys rom and for looks i would reccomend mobilematts fuzeberry theme
