Question about usb port problems.

So i recently got my alltel 6800 and i love it. today i woke up at about 11 and put the touchflo 2d on it, very cool right. Right thats what i thought too but i came back home around three and plugged my phone into the computer to try to change the clock and active sync wouldnt come up. so i figured it was a computer problem, but slowly i realized that the port on the phone felt a tad loose. So i plug it into my charger and bam, nothing happens. I did not drop this phone but no shock towards it or anything. So i am at a loss for what happened.

My questions are, Is it possible for a software install/uninstall to cause this kind of problem.
Are the ports on the 6800 known to go out easily, in this case it would have happened just from plugging and unpluging a usb cord.
What are my options here, i really dont wanna pay 95 dollars (insurance deductable) for a refurb.
Also is there any chance i could call in and convince somebody to give me a touch pro in place of my 6800. (i doubt alltel will do this)

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks alot

Jeff
