Thank you SO much for reporting back with the problem. I doubt you'll ever read this, but I had the same exact issue and though I was thinking about the jack I wasn't certain. I mean, I hadn't used that in AGES and for it to all of a sudden hit my phone like that puzzled me. But it worked! Just plugged the headphones in and out a couple of times and BAM! sound.
