We used 1/3 of the packet of dye in a regular-sized pot of water. We let the dye disolve for 5 minutes while stirring occasionally. Kept the temperature *low* - the knob on the stove was on low. We used a candy thermometer and measured the temp to be around 120 - 130 degrees F. We stirred the pot once a minute, checking the color of the back. Took it out after 7 minutes, rinsed it in cold water, lightly buffed with a paper towel, and voila.

She is very happy with this.
Good job! This is definitely something for the ladies but the color did turn out pretty good there.
