GECKO installer - app "store" for Windows Mobile?

Found this great project a couple weeks ago that's being developed by a team over at XDA. I did a search for this in the software forum, but no dedicated threads came up; so I thought I'd post it for those that don't know about it (since some of us don't venture off to XDA). Very promising if thoroughly developed (It's still in beta).

THE IDEA

"Gecko is an application installer and manager for Windows Mobile. It is inspired from the Apple AppStore and the Ubuntu Package Manager.

Installing a Windows Mobile application is not always an easy process. There are .cab files, .exe files for the device, .exe files for the desktop, .msi installers and compressed files. You have to get the file from the internet, download it, connect your device to your computer then install your application. Once your applications are installed, you have no easy way to know if they are up to date.

Gecko aims to offer a quick and painless solution to these problems. It will provide an easy way to find, install and update your Windows Mobile applications in a convenient way without having to use a computer.

The application is under development and the team is always in need of fresh ideas. Feel free to leave a comment in the shoutbox if you want to share ideas!"
