Windows is notorious for poor memory management, memory leaks etc. Also depends on well written apps. When an app closes, it is supposed to reallocate that memory back to the os and other apps, but a poor written app may not give all that memory back. The closer you get to filling available ram, the more the OS is trying to keep it free by constantly swapping with the page pool, thus slowing things down. Also, you will notice people adjusting their page pools, taking extra available ram for this. This dedicates more memory for a page hungry os, thus improving performance and allowing the remaining memory to be used more effeciently. I could go on but the fact of the matter is, more RAM, better performance..ESPECIALLY on memory hogging OS's like Windows.

All that is true, but the point he is trying to make is that he isnt FEELING the speed decrease. It should be slower, but he cant tell and neither can I. In all honestly, it should decrease just like you said, but many people aren't seeing a decrease. I've had the sprint and verizon versions side by side and the overall speeds between the two were almost identical. Obviously it would be nice to have the extra ram, but I am content with what I have now.
In my opinion, I think the best option is to put the spint touch pro on the verizon network. You didnt like the vzw version, but theres still an opportunity to stick with the vzw network. It all depends on where you live and how coverage is in your area. For me, ATT is horrible and Sprint is spotty on their coverage. Thus, I chose to stick with verizon. For you, you might be able to go to Sprint or ATT and do just fine. At this point all you need to do is pick the network that is right for you and buy the touch pro on or port the touch pro onto that network.
