When did you buy the phone from Sprint? If it's within the return window for the phone, you MIGHT be able to convince Sprint not only to give you the $100 but also to send you the $100 for the mail-in-rebate instead of your having to wait for that. Just explain that you saw a Best Buy offer and since your still within that window you were thinking of returning your current phone so you could take advantage of that lower price, but wanted to give them a chance to match it first. If you are nice and matter-of-fact about it, they may do this. They did something similar for me for my Treo 800w back in July.
If it's not within that window, though, then obviusly you can't return the phone so they have no real NEED to give you the money, although I suppose they could do it to be nice if you begged and pleaded
