I think I had summed it up nicely in the last two sentences of the first post. It's only about fairness. Certainly there will be those that only care about getting a free upgrade, but there will be many more that are thoroughly taken advantage of by their phone carrier.
I blame the carriers..you can blame whomever. If the phone carriers don't press HTC for a recall then of course HTC has little motive to recall, and if consumers don't press the carriers for a recall then the carriers have little incentive to push HTC.
So the problem starts with us, we the consumer.
Yes it is too late in the game to hope for a direct recall. However, as this snowballs it will demonstrate that there needs to be better processes in place for handling these types of issues. Ideally, better quality control in the beginning. Secondly, quicker acknowledgment and assistance to when there is a known issue.
Many of us had to go through the spirals of hell (internals of sprint) that I described in the first post and throughout this thread. In the given context, it is unacceptable.
