My phone connects with EVDO Rev. A at top speeds. I am able to recieve all calls, text messages, connecto to the internet at top speed and the phone does not heat up at all

Would you happen to know if this is a software patch? Or is it a newer PRI or ROM (meaning it would survive a hard reset)? At which store was this?
