It sounds to me like the audio plug is not 'in' all the way. By this I mean that it sounds like all the contacts on the jack are not touching all the contacts inside the plug. Or it may be a bad cable. These are my educated guesses. Next time you're in your car, try pushing the 1/8" jack harder into the slot (yes, that's what she said) and try turning it as well, if that makes sound come out of the right speaker then it's probably not making good contact.
