my point is that customers, sprint ones especially, are quick to blame everyone but themselves for problems. sprint no doubt creates countless issues of their own, but at the same time are often shat on for no good reason when they wont give a customer something for free, etc.

Well said. This particular situation, from what info we have here, appears to be not at all Sprint's responsibility.
