lowbud - Thanks for getting back to me on this.
I did the following to attempt Internet Sharing:
1. Installed WinXP SP2
2. Installed ActiveSync 4.5
3. Set ActiveSync "Allow USB Connections" to disabled
4. Started Internet Sharing on my XV6700
5. My XV6700 connects to the EVDO network
6. Plugged the USB cable into the PC
Then I saw the "USB Device not Recognized" message. Normally, I follow steps (3) => (6) on my laptop computer (which has USB 2.0 ports), and I never have any problems.
I checked, and the DHCP client was running on the PC. I can connect to the internet via NetZero on the PC, but I was looking for a faster connection than dial-up when I'm working on the PC.
Sigh ... I wonder if this is the first time I've seen an incompatibility between USB 1.1 and USB 2.0? Or am I missing something else?
