Re: xv6900 rev-a/gps upgrade help (using ubuntu)

Good news and bad news:

Good news
Good news is I have flashed my phone using the ImCokeman's unlocker and the alltel rom, My phone is now rev-a and GPS capable. Which really the only reason I care is that its a requirement for DZO's android linux port over at xda developers.

Bad news:
I was not able to complete the process from my linux box only. ImCokeman's unlocker was only successful for me from a Windows XP install. The worste part of this whole thing is that I have tainted my computer with a windows XP partition. For those of you who love linux, you know how ashamed I am to give in to M$.

The other downside is my phone has the alltel bootscreen/menu/etc. Oh well, by the time we get android firmware working it will ovewrite winmo anyways.

In case you were interested, the link I first posted ( http://www.atwistedweb.com/xv6900/index.html#unlock ) is a very nice walkthru and worked without a hitch.... from xp :P
