i know i didnt flash my first one back when i got it swapped for my 2nd mogul.
Probably so, but I returned at least 3 titans with kitchen roms, and they never complained. I think they must just go to the refurbishing company & get all thrown together. Afterall, from a logistics point of view, it'd be a nightmare to trouble shoot each phone to make sure the customer wasn't at fault.

I used to work for a cell phone wholesaler who sold phones to many of the "mom & pop" cell phone stores in the South East U.S. I worked in the "product reclamation" department & we did exactly what you & I are talking about.

The ONLY things we did to make sure the customer wasn't at fault were
a) check usage to make sure they've actually used the thing & that they hadn't used too many minutes. Some folks return phones without ever using them for various reasons... these phones were returned to the customers.
b) make sure the serial numbers matched the phones sold to the customers
c) make sure the batteries were OEM and matched the phones
d) make sure they were still under warranty...

That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. If a phone wouldn't turn on, we didn't have the ability to check usage. You're talking about a facility that literally receives in hundreds or thousands of phones per week. It'd be a HUGE investment in time to actually catch the one or two percent of us who cook our own roms with little or no payoff for the company.

No matter what you do, I wish you luck. If you do end up with a super-phone, let us know what you think of it & how you pulled it off.
