Of course they said that- ask them if it has WiFi or a keyboard like your Apache? Or even what it's designation is- the next device that replaced the
6700 is the
6800/Mogul/Titan.
But like PDAPhoneJunkie said, the Touch is cheaper right now. And they probably have more of them in stock.
It looks like the only way to get a 6800 as a replacement (without pitching a fit, pleading in way that gets a rep to help or knowing somebody who will bend the rules for you) is to have multiple replacements and use that to increase your chances of having your requests for an upgrade granted.
