I have a screen protector on mine and think of it as Saran Wrap like what you would use on food. It is a thin clear film that goes over the LCD. However, it doesnt fit PERFECTLY meaning there is a small gap on each side (or one side if you dont get it centered) and you certainly can tell if it is installed or not. If you have any doubt then it likely is NOT installed.
