This caused me to think all was ok, but after I started experimenting, I've noticed a difference when data is on/off.
yes, I use the new Bell ROM (the one that is approx one-month old),
and I did arrive to exactly the opposite conclusion - I did NOT notice
any difference with data on/off.. I turned the data off, and I waited for about an hour, which is enough for ephemeris data to expire, so that GPS starts "from cold"... Then I started GPSviewer, and was looking at the (absense of) arrows in the connection icon, as well as at the net stats in dotfred taskman... nothing even changed, and the GPS lock was as fast as usual - under half a minute
from cold..

from this I conclude that AGPS does not need data...

Furthermore, if I swith the voice off as well (airplane mode)
now I have to wait few minutes for GPS to lock..

from this I conclude that AGPS does use voice connection..

well, now, I'll double check these observation in the course
of nearest few days..
