WinMo6.1 and Google Maps 2.2.0.16

Hi.. Sorry if this may have been asked before, but, I have an HTC Touch from Sprint with Windows Mobile 6.1 installed. I installed the latest version of Google Maps (v. 2.2.0.16) and have all the GPS settings correct on the phone (COM4, Hardware: None, 4800 Baud, Location: ON). I cannot lock into any GPS satellites, even standing in the middle of my front yard with no obstructions and blue skies. When I click on Use GPS in the Menu in Google Maps, I get "20 KB. Seeking GPS satellites (0)..." and it just stays there. After 5-7 minutes or so, I get the message "Your GPS receiver is having trouble tracking GPS satellites. GPS requires a clear view.. blah, blah, blah." Does anyone know if maybe I'm missing something? Wrong setting? Version incompatibility issue? Help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
