Bring up your phone keypad, click Menu, options, services, then highlight time synchronization and click the Get Settings button. Make sure the time sync button is UNchecked. If that doesn't keep your Activesync closed let me know, but more that likely that's the problem.

Not sure if I understand your battery question. You simply slide the old one off and put the new one on. You shouldn't need another battery though. You're battery life will be much better once you fix Activesync and should last you all day.
