I have the exact same thing happening. I've read that it has to do with the HTC home plugin and disabling it is supposed to help. I am using UltimateLaunch and it is suppose to disable the HTC home plugin when not on that screen but I still have occasional problem with iGO8 starting up.

Did you try to "prime" your gps receiver before starting iGO8. Try running first GoogleMaps then try to start iGO8 or use Astrolauncher shortcut to start it.

It's not really a problem, since I can still load it with AstroGPS like I used to, but it is strange that it won't load at all now without it. Before it would load up fine, it just wouldn't find the GPS chip. Maybe a residual setting on my storage card is causing it to keep looking for the GPS hardware through whatever method that AstroGPS uses to initiate it?
I am not seeing any problems with iGO8 loading directly from the Nav N Go iGO shortcut after upgrading from the leaked Sprint ROM to the official Sprint ROM.
