Thanks for your responses, but...

@Negrito: As I indicated, I am looking for something OTHER THAN HTC BT QL. Its limitation is that you must have done the initial pairing through it. It also takes up much of the Today screen, when you have several paired devices. The icon on the dialer is only present when the headset is connected. I am looking for a manual way to initiate the connection.

@wmdunn: I am not looking for a way to turn on or off the phone's BT radio. I am looking for a tool or utility that will force the phone to initiate a connection to a previously-paired headset of my choosing.
