Re: Mogul vs BlackBerry Curve
Personally I would stick with a Mogul over a Blackberry curve. The curve is slower and not nearly as open to modification.
However, when the BB 9000 comes out this fall I will probably switch.
Why? Well it really depends on what you need from your device.
For me I value ease of use in typing. The HTC keyboard isn't as easy to type on. I primarily use my device for remote email, text messaging, quick web browsing, and mapping. The blackberry excels here. Much more so than HTC devices running windows mobile. The keyboard is easier to type on, the battery life is better, and the email/texting experience is simpler. Navigation and mapping is about the same. The WM device benefits from a faster processor. And the BB's web browser isn't as good as PocketIE (which itself is pretty bad) at rendering complex sites.
However with my mogul i get a device that I can modify extensively--kudos to MS for making something so open. This is something i would _never_ be able to do with a BB. I also have access to a much larger software base than the BB.
So for me the question comes down to do i want something open and mediocre for my needs or something perfect for my needs but closed. The curve loses against the mogul because it's closed and has slower hardware. The BB 9000 however is much more attractive.
Who knows maybe there will be a slick VGA win mobile phone by then that will tip it back in WM's favor for me.
But for now I'm sticking with my mogul.
