Re: SPB Clone or SPB Backup

PIM backup should be fine for you. It can backup the files, contacts, calendar appointments, call logs, text logs etc etc.

Spb Backup, SpriteBackup work great for creating backups of your phone after you get it the way you want it, that way when you hard reset you don't have to go through the annoyance of re-installing things.

@ Crash, you can use the backups, its just you want to avoid trying a full restore. I still use old back ups, and I just avoid restoring the registry and other databases, and all works well.

@Original Poster, I recommend using Pim backup for prepping for ROM update.
