Thats correct. However, Jump SPL is capable of overwriting the SPL you currently have installed. Thats why you run the 0.40 unlocker before flashing the Sprint EXE to complete the downgrade. In theory you should be able to flash a "Dumped" version of the Verizon rom thereafter. Just remember that flashing radio portions of firmware is always a risky task and your probability of failure will be lowered if you do not "Upgrade" just because a higher version radio comes out.
