Well I took the dive and went ahead and flashed the altell ROM on my vzw touch. It went smoothly.
After the flash, had to call verizon CS like the rest of you and re-authenticate the phone.
Afterwards went outside and flipped on google maps. About ten minutes later - bam - GPS found my location. TOO cool!!! Drove home with GPS on and had no problems.
The only thing not working is MMS... it had all of the altell MMS server settings programmed in. I tried replacing those with some verizon server settings I found on google but no luck. Then I tried installing
this and it screwed things up further (now I can't even find mms settings).
How did you guys sort out the MMS issue?
