I don't know what MMS client your using but this is for Arcsoft. The issue is that your mms message may not even be delivered if it is above the standard 400k size limit. The Carrier may just reject the message or the attachments.
Using a registry editor, navigate to the following folder:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Arcsoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\Config\UI\SizeLimit
Change the Value "SendLimit3" from "default value" to "1024000"
