I believe that ringtones can be mp3 or wav,, but text messages have to be wav format,, that is the way it was on my 6700 but not sure on my titan havent really gave a crap about my ringtones on this thing for some reason...

and i believe that the ringtones can be anywhere on your phone such as mydocuments, or windows.. but the txt message sounds have to be in window..
this should be able to be changed through some mild registry manipulation though im sure
