MSID is basically like a provisioning code issued by Sprints systems. It is specific to your line of service. It used to be the exact same as your phone number until number portability came about. It will have nothing to do with Verizon at all if you choose to go there. However, no matter what phone you have on Sprint, your MSID will remain the same - even if you change your actual phone number. Your MSL is specifc to the phone. Each phone has a different MSL.
