I'm pretty sure Google will only let you send mail from your gmail address through their SMTP server. That's normally the way it works. You can't use gmail to send mail coming from your exchange address...

What are you trying to accomplish, exactly? Why do the messages need to be in your gmail sent items if you're not sending them from your gmail account? Please explain your rationale for this and we'll try to help you get there.
