Which guide did you used for the rooting procedure? I've rooted & installed ClockworkMod Recovery on my EVO 4G LTE using this guide:
Root and Flash ClockworkMod Recovery on HTC Evo Shift 4G
I think your problem is determined by a wrong rooting procedure. Good luck with your phone!
