I called and talked to a manager about this. This is incorrect. With Verizon, as long as you have a smartphone (paying the $30 a month) and upgrade to another smartphone, you will not lose your unlimited data package.

This is also true from going to or from a 4G LTE to a 3G or back.

Even beat up the question with customer service. Even if Verizon changes plans and dont have a Unlimited data listed, the only way they can force you to change it is if you change your min package (and this is only if they do not offer it any more).

So you WILL NOT lose your unlimited data when upgrading, I would double check everything on your plan after the upgrade, just in case tho...
