No, my guess is that he's a spammer as I've seen a few single posts that are totally pointless by people that recently joined. Main purpose is to get a few posts then start looking at members profiles and harvest as many emails as they can.
Used to be a problem on a motorcycle forum that I run until I required prospective new members to contact me and give a valid reason for them wanting to join. I'd then ask them a question about their particular bike that a spammer probably wouldn't know and that solved most of the problems.
