Thats because a hard reset only resets it to setting of "day one use"
if you flash a new rom it does just that.
The ##786# flashes and restores it to true factory defaults.
I had to do this, the tech said that the # reset pretty much sets it to the day sprint got it from htc, rather then the day you got it from sprint
I did all this but it still didnt fix my internet
